Think about a time someone special came to your classroom.  Write a story about what happened.

A cool October breeze raced throught the classroom, as our teacher closed the back door.  She walked by the tape player, turned it on, and a deep voice sounded through the classroom.  The poem, "The Headless Horseman" repeated several times.  All at once, our teacher opened the door.   "Class, we have a special visitor today.  I'd like to introduce to you . . . . the Headless Horseman of Sleepy Hollow!"
At that exact moment, a dark figure stepped in the room.  He was clothed in all black, and he carried a jack-o-lantern in his arms.  Of course, he didn't have a head!  Most of the kids in the classroom gasped.  My heart pounded as he walked over to my desk.  He bent down, and I could see that he had candy in the pumpkin.  My fingers slowly grapped a piece.  "Tha -  - a -   nks!" I stuttered.
In a flash, he turned to another student.  One after one, the rest of the class followed my lead and took a piece of candy from the pumpkin held in his hands.  The poem kept playing and repeating in the background until he had visited each desk.
On his way back to the door, Mrs. Bell stopped the tape and turned to the class.  "Would you like to know the secret identity of our visitor?" she asked.  Everyone agreed.  So without another word, the Headless Horseman took off the costume.  We were surprised to see Mrs. Bell's daughter in the outfit.  She laughed and we felt relieved.
In a few minutes, Mrs. Bell walked to the front of the class and gave us each a special sheet of writing paper.  For about an hour we wrote poems about the Headless Horseman.  My fingers gladly pushed the pencil across the paper.  Every time I feel a cool October breeze, I'll always remember the day we had a special visitor walk into our classroom.
