Think about a time you went on a trip with your family.  Write a story about what happened on the trip.

As you write your paper, remember to:

Bright sunlight shined down on the windshield as we pulled out on I-85.  Mom pressed the button and opened the sunroof.  The wind whisked around and blew open my coloring book.  Pages flipped like a cheerleader in a competition.  We were on a trip to the beach, and my heart pounded in my throat.
In a flash, my brother, Jimmy, pulled the bag of M & M's from the back seat.  "What are you going?" I shouted.  Suddenly, brightly colored M & M dots sprinkled all over my lap.  Mom turned and gave me that "you'd better straighten up" look as she turned up the volume on the radio.  My hands felt all across the floor to find the loose candies and stuff them back in the bag.
In a few seconds, the oldies blasted over the sounds of trucks rolling by.  Mom and I sang along to "Hit the Road Jack," and Jimmy just laughed at us.  "Maybe we should sing for our supper!" she offered.  The thought made me laugh too.
We kept on singing until I asked, "Are we there yet?"   Green direction sign were up ahead.  Dad couldn't read until he got up close, so he asked me to help look.  "What exit are we looking for?" I asked.  Mom showed me the map.  My eyes scanned the road looking for exit 85.  The wind whizzed by like a huge fan.  We were almost there.
Finally, Dad turned on the right exit, and we pulled into the motel parking lot.  As I leaped from my seat, I noticed that the bright sunlight had melted all the hidden M & M's on the seat and floor.  To make it worse, chocolate covered my brand new pants.  "On our next trip, why don't the M & M's hit the road Jack?" I demanded.
