Lesson: How will transition words help me stay on track?
SAMPLE TEXT:
|
Tell about your adventure in the strange weather. |
“Oh my gosh! I can’t believe this is happening!” I shouted.
Suddenly, thousands of three-inch, green, slimy balls dropped
from the
sky. Right in front of my house, the gooey precipitation covered
the sidewalk.
One neighbor ran inside as he screamed to call 911. Even though
it was
noon, the summer sun was totally blocked by the thick, green clouds.
My little
sister tugged on my arm. Her hair oozed with green slime.
“Did the weather man say it was gonna’ slime today?” she giggled.
All at once, I thought of something that wasn’t funny. I remembered
that
I had left my puppy, Sparks, in the backyard. With my sister
glued to my side,
I ran around the house calling, “Sparks! Here boy!” By
this time, the back
yard was two feet deep in the green sludge, and Sparks had disappeared.
In a flash, muffled whimpers caught my attention. A tiny
tug pulled on
my sleeve. Sister’s hand pointed to a moving, green lump.
Slowly, my
shaking hands pulled me along the picket fence. My legs were
swimming in
the goo. Meanwhile, a red fire engine parked along the street.
