Lesson:  What are the rules of narrative writing?

Learn these very important rules for narrative writing.  Practice reciting
them.  You need to understand them in order to write a passing paper.
  

1.  Narratives must have a clear BEGINNING, MIDDLE and END.
2.  Narratives must MOVE forward.
3.  Narratives must STICK to the prompt.
4.  Narratives must have ACTION.
5.  Narratives must have a descriptive SETTING and focus on the VISUAL sense.
6.  Narratives must include dialogue that supports the events..
7.  Narratives should use DIRECTIONAL words.
8.  Narratives must be written with the FIRST-PERSON
      pronouns, “I” and “we.”
9.  Narratives should include FIGURATIVE LANGUAGE.
10.Narratives must have a FEELING at the end and restate the prompt.
