Read the following prompt sample. Notice all the words that are
in bold
print. These words are nouns. Nouns are things that you
can see.
“Ough! My tooth hurts!” I shouted. My mom told me
to put on my coat
that morning. We were going downtown to the dentist. She
had made an
appointment because I was complaining about one of my teeth.
As we
walked out the door, I grabbed a bag of ice to hold on my jaw.
It helped a little
bit, but my whole mouth still throbbed.
Every time we hit a bump in the road, the toothache blasted my
mouth
with pain. I moaned until Mom opened the door to the dentist
office. She
pointed me to a chair in the corner while she talked to the nurse.
In a few
minutes, the nurse took me back to a room down a hall. The nurse
patted me
on the back and asked me to sit in the chair in the middle of the room.
The
chair felt slick and soft. When I leaned my head back, I noticed
a mirror on
the ceiling.
Here is a list of the words printed in bold from the above paragraphs.
