Think about a time that you were disappointed. Write a story about the event. |
In a few minutes, I pleaded with mom and convinced her to turn in the drive through. Three cars were in front of us, and my stomach started growling. The first car pulled away in a minute. The second car also left in a hurry. By then, I was wiggling in my seat. All at once, the driver of the third car caught my attention. He started throwing his hands in the air and shaking his head. Then, he drove away too. Suddenly, I noticed that the red flashing lights in the window turned off.
"Oh boy! Mom I can't wait for those melt-in-your-mouth doughnuts!" I shouted as my tummy rumbled. We pulled up to the speaker. The voice came across the box to take the order.
My mom turned to me and asked, "What do you want?" So, I ordered three glazed doughnuts.
"We're all out of glazed doughnuts. Would you like to order something else? the voice squawked from the speaker box. OUT OF GLAZED DOUGHNUTS! How could they be out of doughnuts? Wasn't this a doughnut store? I was so disappointed. None of the other doughnuts tasted like those hot, sticky glazed ones.
"No thank you," I whined. Mom drove away. I slumped in the seat. Mom looked at the frown on my face. She could tell that I was upset, and she promised to bring me back when they made more doughnuts. I don't think I'll ever trust the red "Hot and Now" lights ever again.
